Stellaris: Console Edition warps onto Xbox

Stellaris is an evolution of the grand strategy genre with space exploration at its core. It features deep gameplay, a diverse selection of aliens, and emergent storytelling. According to publisher Paradox Interactive, Stellaris contains "engaging moments that reward interstellar exploration" as you traverse, discover, interact, and learn more about the characters you encounter during your travels.

There are a lot of mechanics to master here, so be prepared for a somewhat steep learning curve when you first dive in. It takes some time to get familiar with them, but it's quite satisfying once you do. The trailer below breaks down some of the main features found in the console version. The most important change has to be thumbstick support.

Stellaris: Console Edition is available for $40 and it's only a digital purchase. You can't buy it on Amazon at the moment, but it's unclear if that will change in the future.

In our review, we said, "Stellaris is a personal favorite, and it's great to see it make the leap to Xbox One, but Paradox and its partners could really seal the deal by bringing across mouse support, which the Xbox One now has. Hopefully we'll see it materialize down the line, but for now, the gamepad controls are pretty great as is."
