Stellaris 'Utopia' expansion lands on Xbox One, focuses on transcendence

What you need to know

  • Stellaris: Console Edition is the popular port of the PC strategy game.
  • The title keeps on receiving expansions now and then.
  • Today, the Utopia content launched on Xbox One.
  • You can purchase the expansion for $20 through the Microsoft Store.

Today, publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Tantalus Media launched Utopia, the first major expansion for Stellaris: Console Edition. Utopia adds a lot of new content which focuses on customization, but there's also a focus on genetic modification. The goal appears to be unlocking the full psionic potential of one's species through Transcendence.

Stellaris is an evolution of the grand strategy genre with space exploration at its core. It features complex gameplay, a diverse selection of aliens, and emergent storytelling like many modern titles. According to the publisher, the game contains "engaging moments that reward interstellar exploration" as you traverse, discover, interact, and learn more about the characters you encounter.

Some of Utopia's main features are listed below.

  • Megastructures
  • Habitat stations
  • Ascension perks
  • Indoctrination
  • Control fallen empires
  • Advanced governments

Stellaris: Utopia costs $20 on the Microsoft Store, but if you buy the Deluxe Edition Upgrade, you can get the past expansions and Utopia for $25. You'll need to own the base game for that though.
