'Repair Prickett's Fort Token Dispenser' quest glitches in Fallout 76

I expected to find a lot of bugs and glitches when Fallout 76 dropped. What I didn't expect was an entire area to be borderline unplayable. When I tried to complete the Bureau of Tourism quest, I was met with a slew of problems that not only made the quest unbeatable, but an entire — albeit small — section of the map unplayable.

Update November 19, 2018: Fallout 76 gets a patch

A new patch has come to Fallout 76. There were general performance and stability patches, as well as updates to the enemies, art and graphics, quests, PVP, and user interface. In this patch the Prickett Fort issues have been resolved! Now you can go about completeing the quest normally- without any issues.

Everything wrong with this quest

At first the Bureau of Tourism quest works just fine, but everything changes when you have to fix the token dispenser. The first time I walked into the area, I encountered a gaggle of Union and Confederate robot soldiers duking it out in the parking lot. An event quest to kill Confederate soldiers popped up on my screen, so I whipped out my gun and jumped right in.

It didn't take long for me to realize that my gun was doing absolutely no damage to any of the robots in the area, but their bullets still hurt me a whole lot. I quickly left, assuming it was some temporary glitch, and reloaded the game. When I came back, there were no Confederate soldiers and no matter how long I stayed they never spawned again.

Furthermore, the token dispenser itself is completely "unselectable." That means the whole reason you have to be in this area to begin with doesn't even work. Not only did I waste healing items, bullets, and time, but then I needed to backtrack entirely to start a new quest somewhere else. I only attempted to come back one other time and it's almost as if the problems with this area reset into different problems. Most of the major issues stay the same, but every time I find myself in this corner of the map I notice something else that's wrong.

What can you do?

Absolutely nothing. There isn't a weird spot or some round-about way of getting through this glitch. The only thing you can hope to do is check in on the area occasionally to see if you've loaded into the mess of bugs or not. While there have been reports of this glitch being a huge problem, there are a decent amount of players who haven't experienced it at all. If the thought of wasting your time checking on something that may never work bothers you, then your best bet would be to wait for an update or patch. Hopefully Bethesda is aware of it.
