It's a weekend of closures this week with the Forza Racing Championship 2018 taking place in London, and the League of Legends Worlds 2018 over in South Korea causing a few heads to turn.
Forza comes to London
The series for the Forza Racing Championship 2018 is now over, and the top 24 drivers will be competing in the final for a shot at $100,000 and the title of champion. The event is set to be held in London on October 21 and 22, which makes sense since the latest Horizon installment is based out of the Scottish Highlands.
You'll be able to catch all the live action on the days over on the Forza Mixer. Times will be 6 p.m. BST and 10 a.m. PDT.
The rise of the west
League of Legends Worlds 2018 has seen quite the advancement of western-based teams, including Cloud9 from North America, FNATIC and G2 Esports from Europe. That's a total of three western teams in the quarter-finals. Other regions were hit hard, including Korea and Taiwan, leaving China as the only big player to successfully push on with expected spots acquired.
It's certainly not uncommon for western teams to make it through to the quarter-finals, but there's a buzz around teams from NA and EU this year due to solid performances and a seemingly different mindset.
