ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 and GX531 combine style with GeForce RTX graphics

While ASUS has certainly embraced its weird side at CES 2019, it's keeping things a little more sedate for two of its new laptops in the Zephyrus S line.

The new Zephyrus S GX701 and GX 531 join the cavalcade of laptops coming out of CES featuring NVIDIA's latest RTX 20 Series graphics for notebooks. Though they differ in size, with the GX701 coming with a 17-inch panel and the GX531 coming with a 15-inch screen, they both boast plenty of gaming oomph courtesy of GeForce RTX 2080 graphics with Max-Q to keep things cool.

Other than graphics, the svelte black frame comes packed with Intel's Core i7-8750H processor, up to 24GB of RAM, and storage options that include multiple 1TB and 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD drives. The 1080p display panels on each feature speedy 144Hz refresh rates and NVIDIA G-Sync for keeping games running silky smooth.

Other design tidbits include thin bezels around the screen to make your games pop out more, along with per-key RGB backlighting on the keyboard. The touchpad sits at the right flank of the keyboard and can be turned into a virtual numpad with a single button press.

The ROG Zephyrus GX701 and GX531 are expected to launch later in Q1 2019, and pricing will be revealed closer to release.
