Sea of Thieves is an exploration-based pirate game which relies on emergent experiences. While the title launched as a somewhat barebones game, it's now become so much more due to time-limited events. However, that's not where Sea of Thieves' story ends. On April 30, the game got its long-awaited "Anniversary Update" which added cooking, fishing, harpooning, single-player quests, and much more. In many ways it completely revamped the title.

Aside from the emergent gameplay, one aspect of Sea of Thieves that really shines is the soundtrack. You can even create amazing music when you're playing with other players by starting and stopping your instruments in a harmonious manner. The title has garnered a lot of praise for its soundtrack from gamers, but today, developer Rare's Composer and Music Director Robin Beanland won a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for the "Best Original Video Game Score."

Ivor Novello Awards are among some of the top honors in the music industry. They're named after the famous Welsh composer and actor who became one of the most popular British entertainers of the early 1900s. Xbox head Phil Spencer and others congratulated Beanland for his achievement because it's a stunning accomplishment.
