Ghost Recon Wildlands gets Ghost Recon Future Soldier content today

Ghost Recon Wildlands is a third-person shooter playable entirely in four-player co-op or single-player from beginning to end. Gamers have total freedom to accomplish their missions how they want. They can choose to move quietly in the night, go in hot at dawn, or work together to execute the perfect sync shot that takes out enemies in one fell swoop. Each choice has a consequence, and players must improvise and adapt their plans.

Today, Ubisoft announced that Ghost Recon Wildlands will introduce a free Ghost Recon Future Soldier–themed special mission featuring iconic characters Scott Mitchell and John Kozak. This is the third major update for the second year, and players will be able to team up with Mitchell and Kozak starting December 11. Upon completing the mission, players will be rewarded with a backpack. There are a lot of other customization options coming with this update too. For example, the "Special Operation 3" update also brings two new multiplayer classes and maps.

Ubisoft added that "Ghost Recon Wildlands will continue to expand the Ghost Recon universe with free major Special Operation updates, each featuring a unique theme, community-requested features, and updates for the Ghost War experience. The development team is committed to supporting the game with free new content and improvements to the core experience."

Ghost Recon Wildlands was a lackluster experience at launch, but the developer has now managed to turn it around. This seems to be the new norm of the gaming industry.
