Updated January 7, 2019: Alien: Blackout was revealed as a mobile game. However, the team confirmed that another massively multiplayer online game (MMO) is in development for consoles and PC.

Aliens is an extremely popular franchise which has had its fair share of ups and downs. While some of the films are considered cult classics, others are quite terrible to say the least. The same applies to the Aliens video games. Alien: Isolation is quite possibly of the best horror games ever made, while Aliens: Colonial Marines is well, Aliens: Colonial Marines. We all know how atrocious Gearbox Software's creation truly is.

According to a link floating around on Twitter, it seems like 20th Century Fox is developing another Aliens game. A listing appeared for a European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) trademark for a "computer game" called "Alien: Blackout." One user dug deeper and discovered several job listings which point towards it being an Unreal Engine 4 title with a multiplayer focus. However, as with any such rumor, take it with a grain of salt until we have official confirmation. So far we only know that a game called Alien: Blackout is coming.

A few days ago, Hideo Kojima visited 20th Century Fox and posed with the Aliens props scattered throughout the offices. It also seems like Kojima Productions is preparing for an announcement for The Game Awards 2018. While this is most likely going to be a new trailer for Death Stranding, we can all hope for an early holiday miracle. Can you imagine an Aliens game made by Kojima?

If you can't wait for whatever Alien: Blackout is, then be sure to check out Alien: Isolation for Xbox One at your favorite retailer. The game is a first-person survival experience where you have to evade the titular creature for hours.
