You aren't alone if can't sign into or launch games on Xbox One right now (update)

Xbox Live appears to be down for some — catch the latest right here.

Updated February 1, 2019: The sign-in issues appear to have been resolved as of 1.30 PM EST.

A few days ago, there was a major Xbox Live outage which resulted in Xbox One consoles connected to the internet refusing to move beyond a black screen. While this was quickly resolved by rolling back a server update, many gamers were disappointed that this occurred to begin with. Ever since that day, Xbox Live hasn't been operating normally and this morning the service was hit by another outage.

Right now, a lot of Xbox One owners are stating that they're having trouble signing into their consoles and accessing purchased content. In many cases, the device tells owners to sign into Xbox Live to launch a digital game. This is especially problematic if you game share and can't set your console to offline mode.

Luckily, Xbox Support is aware of this issue and stated "If you're running into errors attempting to sign in or access previously purchased content, our teams are aware and working to identify the cause." Hopefully the team will be able to isolate the cause quickly and issue a fix. You can either follow Xbox Support for updates or go to the Xbox Status website and sign up for text alerts.

Since it's a snow day across many parts of the United States, a lot of gamers probably want to make a dent on Kingdom Hearts III or whatever title they're currently going through. Such outrages are frustrating to say the least, especially ones that happen one after another. Currently, the solution appears to be to switch your console to offline mode if you don't game share.
