Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus achieves native 4K resolution on Xbox One X

Digital Foundry conducted an analysis in which they uncovered that it ran at 810p 60 FPS on the system. This resulted in a blurry image which was rather jarring to experience. Considering that Wolfenstein: The New Order ran at 1080p 60 FPS on Xbox One, this felt like a significant downgrade. However, now that the Xbox One X is out, it seems that those who upgraded to Microsoft's newest console are in for a treat. Unlike the PlayStation 4 Pro version which achieves up to 1440p resolution, the Xbox One X version goes up to native 4K. Both versions feature dynamic resolution in order to maintain 60 FPS as closely as possible.

Despite the drops in resolution on Xbox One X, it stays above what players see on the PlayStation 4 Pro. This results in a sharper image throughout the game. There's also better texture filtering on Microsoft's console which results in players seeing more details during certain scenes. This is great news for Xbox One X owners and even better news for those who originally played the muddy version on Xbox One.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Wolfenstein: The New Order. The game is currently available on Xbox One, Windows PC, and PlayStation 4. This time around you fight the Nazis in iconic American locations, equip an arsenal of insane guns, and unleash new abilities to blast your way through legions of Nazi soldiers. You have to trigger the second American Revolution.
