At E3 2018, Microsoft showcased Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in partnership with Activision. The game is being developed by the creators of Dark Souls, FromSoftware, and looks unique and intriguing. Activision's Chief Revenue Officer Steve Young added, "We can't wait for fans to finally get their hands on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Fans will get a taste of the multiple tools available for the prosthetic shinobi arm... and will be able to fully dive into the brutal, dark world of 1500's Sengoku Japan when the game launches."

Today, gamers got a better look at Shadows Die Twice at the 2018 Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2018). Activision released a new trailer which showcases the brutal combat — which seem much more impulsive than the Dark Souls series — and stunning visuals. The lighting, character design, and textures all stand out. The TGS 2018 video also gives us a better understanding of the story.

A main mechanic in Shadows Die Twice is the prosthetic arm belonging to the "one-armed wolf" protagonist. You can reconstruct it to unlock new moves like a powerful charge attack. At the heart of the gameplay is sword combat and "resurrection". Resurrection keeps the action flowing because you can revive on the stop.

At Gamescom 2018, the publisher revealed that Shadows Die Twice would hit Xbox One and other platforms on March 22, 2019. The company confirmed that the game would be enhanced for Xbox One X.
