Why stick with a boring old smiley when you can be a stoked monkey instead?

Skype Insiders are getting a small, but entertaining, update today. With the latest update now heading to all platforms, you'll now be able to personalize your emoticons.

Yep, you can now be a monkey, koala, or even a robot instead of a boring yellow blob of a face.

Changing your default emoticon is pretty easy no matter what platform you're on. On desktop, you just have to right-click to reveal other characters that you can choose from. On mobile, a long press will serve up the same selection.

In addition to emoticons, you'll also be able to personalize hearts and ribbons to show support for different causes.

Personalized emoticons are rolling out now to all Skype Insiders on all platforms with version 8.38.76.134.
