Is there a 15-inch Surface Laptop 3?
One laptop, two sizes
The first two iterations of the Surface Laptop came in only one size. The 2019 refresh, the Surface Laptop 3 shakes up the recipe a little by adding a larger 15-inch version.
In many regards it's what you'd hope it is, a larger Surface Laptop that keeps the same great design, gorgeous display, amazing keyboard, and digital pen support. However, the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 is so much more than just a size increase.
The first AMD Surface
The 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 is the first Microsoft Surface device of any kind to come with an AMD Ryzen processor. The two companies have a more well-known partnership on Xbox, with AMD providing both CPU and GPU hardware for Microsoft's console.
This is the first time the partnership has come to the Surface line with the special "Surface Edition Ryzen 7," which combines the power of AMD's Ryzen CPU cores and Vega GPU cores. Microsoft also made some big claims, notably that it's the fastest processor in its class. Considering Intel's recent improvements, it's exciting to hear such a claim about the Surface Edition Ryzen.

The specifically customized AMD Ryzen Microsoft Surface Edition processor inherits from the graphics core architecture of Xbox One and includes one additional compute unit more than any other AMD Ryzen mobile processor for an extra boost of graphics horsepower. Complex content creation and machine learning workloads seamlessly offload to the massive parallel-processing GPU engine through AMD Radeon OpenCL and WinML drivers.
