Biggest Bethesda news from QuakeCon 2018

Today, Bethesda held its annual QuakeCon media briefing. QuakeCon 2018 takes place over the next several days in Texas and the publisher is expected to reveal a lot of information about games like Doom Eternal and Fallout 76. You can read about everything the publisher announced at the event below.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is getting a new expansion called "Isle of Madness". Not only will it add more content, but it's expected to launch on consoles this year too.

Bethesda Game Studios Dallas

During the event, Pete Hines announced that Escalation Studios is now Bethesda Game Studios Dallas. The team has worked with Escalation Studios for many years on virtual reality titles. The acquisition seems to indicate a greater push in that category.

Sales

All Bethesda games are on sale for up to 75 percent off at major retailers in celebration of QuakeCon. If you want to pick up titles like Doom or Prey, now's your chance to get them for a heavily-discounted price.

Quake Champions

Quake Champions is going free-to-play at QuakeCon 2018. The game previously received a free trial at E3 2018, but in order to attract more players, the developer decided to make it free-to-play even after the trial period ended.

The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online is getting another smaller expansion called "Wolfhunter". In it, you face the "Beasts of Hircine" in new four-player dungeons. Your goal is to liberate the stronghold of "Moon Hunter Keep" or join the hunt and begin slaughtering everyone. Wolfhunter launches on PC on August 13, 2018, and August 28 for Xbox One.

Rage 2

Bethesda showcased new Rage 2 gameplay at the event. Aside from the insane action, the highlight was the new forest biome. The Earth is slowly recovering from the asteroid collection and new species are popping up. Rage 2 is expected to launch in Spring 2019 and will have a "social component", not traditional multiplayer.

Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal is just as brutal and gory as the first game, but there are some noticeable improvements. For example, the environments seem much more open. It seems that harvesting energy from Hell hasn't gone according to plan, and it has accidentally opened portals to Hell on Earth. How players end up on Earth from Mars is still a mystery. The lighting seems to have received the biggest overhaul because the textures and visuals are similar to the 2016 release. New weapons like the grappling hook and sword stole the show.

Fallout 76

Bethesda shared even more details about Fallout 76 like how "Perks" function and the richness of the world.

Those were all of the game announcements from QuakeCon 2018. A lot of great experiences are coming to Xbox One in the coming months from the publisher, and hopefully, you're as excited as we are for titles like Doom Eternal and Rage 2.
