Logitech G Pro X headset amps up your trash talk with Blue Microphone tech

What you need to know

Logitech has teamed up with Blue Microphones, one of the most well-known names in microphone tech, for a newly refreshed Logitech G Pro X headset. Debuting alongside a cheaper upgrade to the base Logitech G Pro headset, the $130 G Pro X features "Blue Voice" tech that Logitech built in concert with Blue Microphones.

The pitch is this: serious gamers and esports pros want serious control over how their voices sound. So, working with Blue, Logitech built several professional effects into its G HUB software to let you do just that.

"BLUE VO!CE microphone technology gives you a choice of real-time voice filters to reduce noise, add compression and de-essing, and ensure that your voice sounds richer, cleaner, and more professional," Logitech says, claiming that you'll get "consistent, studio-quality" sound by tweaking the settings in G Hub. That's a bold claim, but it's one that could win the attention of streamers, professional gamers, and your average joe if it holds true.

The base G Pro model doesn't come with the new Blue Voice tech, but that keeps its price much lower at $99. Outside of that difference, both headsets sport a new look and frame with aluminum and steel throughout. And if you're one for looks, the revamps are arguably much more stylish than the 2018 G Pro headset.

The earcups pack memory foam, as has become standard on a ton of gaming headsets out there. Inside, you'll find a set of 50 mm drivers that push the headset's sound. The microphone and and two-meter cable on both models are also removable.

The Logitech G Pro and Logitech G Pro X will hit stores on July 25, according to their Amazon listings. If you're eager to check them out yourself, you can currently preorder the G Pro for $100 and G Pro X for $130.
