Chime in: Will Microsoft's mobile failure hurt its AI strategy?

Hey, Cortana: Has Microsoft ruined its AI dreams by failing in the mobile space?

That's the question on the mind of some folks in our community forum, leading them to ask if not only Microsoft's AI strategy is at risk, but Windows as a whole. It's a valid concern, especially given how mobile has taken the world by storm. Everyone has a smartphone today, and many use it in place of a traditional Windows-based PC.

With Microsoft throwing in the towel on Windows mobile, one has to wonder how this is going to affect its future AI endeavors. Community member aximtreo referenced a recent Computerworld article that went into some detail about the void in Microsoft's arsenal, namely Windows phone, which could really set the company back compared to competitors.

This points to how short sited MS Management is towards Mobile market needs. Interesting to see how other WC readers react.

From the forums: Lack of mobile will keep MS from being a major player in AI
