Attack on Titan-like 'Extinction' gets revelatory story trailer

Extinction was originally revealed in June 2017, but since then we haven't heard much about the development process. Recently, developer Iron Galaxy finally announced an April 10, 2018 release date for the game. Since then we've only learned about the title through trailers.

In Extinction, players take on the role of Avil, who is the last of the legendary "Sentinels". The Sentinels are the only warriors capable of toppling giants known as "Ravenii". Unfortunately, there are a lot of Ravenii and Avil is all that stands between the towering ogres and the survival of the human race. It's definitely a daunting task which should be easier with a sharp blade.

According to the developer, the world of Extinction has always been at war with itself. When a giant portal opens in the land of Dolorum, the massive threats suddenly come to life. The Sentinel order has degraded over the years and Avil is now the last hope for humanity.

Avil's key to permanently eliminating the Ravenii is the "Rune Strike". This attack can be used to dismember massive ogres, and can be further powered up by saving people, killing smaller enemies, destroying Ravenii armor, and accomplishing objectives within each mission. You just need one swoop to stop a Ravenii, but landing that perfect hit isn't easy.

If you love games like Attack on Titan, be sure to check out Extinction in the coming months. The game will be available on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
