Surface Pro firmware update brings battery reliability improvements and more

Microsoft recently began rolling out a fresh set of firmware updates to the Surface Pro (2017). Available for both the standard Surface Pro and Surface Pro with LTE, the updates resolve a potential security issue and improve battery reliability, Microsoft says.

Here's a look at what's new for Surface Pro:

  • Surface System Aggregator Firmware – Firmware - 234.2110.770.0 resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 180002.
  • Surface System Aggregator Firmware – Firmware - 234.2110.1.0 improves battery reliability.

The Surface Pro with LTE has received the same fixes, but each includes a different version number. Here's a look:

  • Surface UEFI – Firmware - 233.2110.770.0 resolves potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 180002.
  • Surface System Aggregator Firmware – Firmware - 233.2111.256.0 improves battery reliability.

According to Microsoft's value indicator, these updates should also improve battery life. If you're using a Surface Pro, you should able to grab these updates now via Windows Update.

However, checking our own Surfaces (including those on Windows Insider Program, Release Preview) are not seeing the System Aggregator Firmware (we already had the new UEFI update). That means this could be a slow rollout as Microsoft tests the waters.
