Activision is gearing up for a surprise return of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with listings surfacing for the unannounced remaster, following rampant rumors last week. The hit shooter looks to make a return on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this week, with a PlayStation Store listing surfacing from Germany, laced with screenshots and a trailer for the latest Modern Warfare rendition.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered sets out to revise the full single-player campaign, including improved textures, animations, and HDR lighting. The listing prices the remaster at €24,99, indicating availability will fall around $30 in the U.S. However, it appears both multiplayer and cooperative modes will be excluded, with a handful of classic maps instead joining the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 roster.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered follows the 2016 remaster of its predecessor, which saw visual upgrades shipped nearly a decade after the original release. The same goes for its second entry, although this time shipping standalone, rather than bundled alongside a mainline title, like Infinite Warfare.
