Forza Horizon 4 launched a few days ago, and gamers are loving the open-world racing experience. The game features upgraded visuals and a shared world for an even more community-focused experience. The user feedback seems to be great, and the title has also garnered a lot of critical acclaim from numerous outlets. The game currently sits at a 92 on Metacritic from almost eighty reviews. It appears that the critical success has also translated to more sales.

According to a report by GamesIndustry, Forza Horizon 4 is the the fastest-selling game in the series so far in the UK. The Xbox One console exclusive was only narrowly behind Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Xbox UK director Harvey Eagle also commented on the game's success.

We're thrilled that Forza Horizon 4 has been so well received by gamers across the UK. Set in beautiful, historic Britain and made by British studio Playground Games, Forza Horizon 4 is the fastest-ever selling game of the Forza Horizon series in the UK according to the latest GfK data. We're also seeing a huge uplift in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions and engagement. These achievements are a testament to the craft and ambition of the latest release of the Forza franchise, the world's biggest racing IP.

The top ten games in the UK for the week ending on October 6, 2018 are listed below.

  1. FIFA 19
  2. Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  3. Forza Horizon 4
  4. Spider-Man
  5. Super Mario Party
  6. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  7. Tekken 7
  8. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
  9. Project CARS 2
  10. Grand Theft Auto V

It's great to see that the game is doing this well. Another report that came out over the weekend suggested that Forza Horizon 4 has doubled its launch player count over Forza Horizon 3. This might be a result of Xbox Game Pass because the game is available for free to anyone who subscribes to the service for $9.99 a month.

Forza Horizon 4 doesn't feature any microtransactions so you have to play it in order to earn cars. The game forgoes the Australian landscape and drops players in Britain. Not only does the title look better than its predecessors, but it also features the historic and twisty city of Edinburgh.

If you're looking for a fun open-world racing experience, be sure to give Forza Horizon 4 a go. Unlike its predecessors, the title features a 1080p 60 FPS mode on Xbox One X. This results in tighter handling and gives the game a simulation feel.
