Secretlab has been making some of the best gaming chairs since 2014, and the company recently teamed up with developer CD Projekt RED to make the Cyberpunk 2077 Edition. The company made a name for itself by using premium materials to make high-quality, solid chairs. So we're expecting some top-notch experience with this special edition rear end rester.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is essentially the same as the excellent Secretlab 2020 Series, but with some awesome-looking design elements that allow you to truly immerse yourself into the wonderful cyberpunk world.

Because the Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is the same as the new 2020 Series from Secretlab, all the improvements made to that chair are also relevant to this special edition. These improvements included metal buttons for adjusting the armrests, and Secretlab's PRIME 2.0 PU Leather.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Edition from Secretlab is incredibly comfortable with a gorgeous paint job.

This new material was put to the test and was found to continue holding up after 200,000 abrasion cycles, compared to the 50,000 cycles it took for standard leather to start peeling. That's pretty impressive, but it's what one has come to expect from the company. It's known for high-quality chairs using premium materials, and this Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is no different.

Included with this fancy new leather are memory foam headrest and lumbar support cushions. These feel incredible to the touch, much like expensive memory foam pillows. The base of the chair is made of metal with plastic wheels and a sturdy adjustment tower. Putting everything together is an adventure, however.

Once unpacked, the mess of parts across your chosen flat surface may look rather daunting, but following the provided instruction sheet allowed even one such as myself to correctly assemble the $450 chair in less than an hour. You'll want to have someone help you move the chair to your final destination because this thing weighs a lot, especially once put together.

And once the Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is assembled, it's quite the sight. The striking yellow and black design is a substantial upgrade to the all-black standard edition of the same gaming chair. On the backrest, you'll find the Cyberpunk 2077 branding, alongside some circuitry accents.

The same goes for the base of the chair. Cyan stitching can be found throughout the PRIME 2.0 PU Leather. On the rear of the chair, we have the branding for the in-game Cyberpunk 2077 rock band Samurai in the form of a flaming logo. This is the same band headed up by singer Johnny Silverhand (portrayed by Keanu Reeves).

Buying a chair and spending this much on one should provide one of the most comfortable gaming experiences around, and I can attest to that with a few solid days of endurance. Like the 2020 Series from Secretlab, the Cyberpunk 2077 is incredibly comfy to sit on. Whether you plan to play your favorite game for an hour or the entire evening, you'll not feel any pain nor discomfort.

You're going to need two people to carry the box to a flat surface for construction. The Cyberpunk 2077 Edition weighs enough to make it a struggle to move everything around. The task of assembling the chair can also be daunting, though Secretlab does include some well laid out instructions that'll see you up and running in no time at all.

An issue you may find with the Cyberpunk 2077 is the lack of any lumbar support, aside from an included pillow, with the non-TITAN Omega version. This pillow is comfortable to use, once you manage to position it correctly every time you sit down, thanks to it containing a memory foam cushion.

Like other gaming chairs available, you will notice some wobble in the armrests. This may come as a surprise for a chair that costs upwards of half a thousand dollars, but it's actually by design. Some owners may prefer this approach, while others could find it annoying. I don't personally see an issue, but it's worth bringing up.

Interestingly, Secretlab opted for metal switches and levers for the armrests, which feel amazing. It's as if Audi made a gaming chair. The issue comes with the tilt and height levers located underneath the chair itself. These are plastic, which feels sturdy enough but inferior compared to the armrest counterparts.

Should you buy the Secretlab Cyberpunk 2077 Edition?

Secretlab is viewed as one of the top providers of gaming chairs for a reason, and the Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is an excellent example. The design is incredible, especially so if you're a fan of the game. It was easy for the team to go overboard with the styling, but the end result is far from obnoxious. More importantly, it's simply a dream to sit on.

Should you be searching around for something better than a wooden chair for long gaming sessions at the desk, investing in something like the Cyberpunk 2077 Edition from Secretlab is a brilliant plan. It's pricier than office-grade chairs that are more comfortable than more affordable seating, but you do get far more in terms of durability and comfort.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is available now, but you'll struggle to find it in stock from the company due to demand. If you cannot place an order, Secretlab plans to roll out another wave of units once the game has been released.
