Seagate debuts new line of premium Xbox One SSDs

Seagate has announced a further expansion of its line of Xbox One "Game Drives," with a new solid-state solution on its way to market. Announced at E3 2018, the new Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD delivers various improvements upon the first revision that launched two years ago.

The new SSDs will be offered in 2TB, 1TB, and 500GB variants and compatible on any Xbox One console over USB. These plug-and-play drives promise to cut download times across the console family, while also providing additional storage beyond your internal drive capacity. A new streamlined metallic design appears to have adopted too – closely matching Microsoft's other premium accessories.

Seagate hopes to deliver its new Game Drive SSD range this summer both through online retailers and physical stores. Pricing is currently set at $150 for the 500GB model, $300 for 1TB, and $600 for 2TB. This price point comes in reasonably high compared to other SSDs on the market, though we'll be sure to take a closer look at launch.
