Recently, CD Projekt RED shared the first gameplay footage from Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world, first-person, narrative-driven role-playing game set in the universe of the classic Cyberpunk 2020 pen-and-paper game system. While the story seems to be locked down, the title still needs a lot of polish. Maybe that's why one of the writers left to work for Blizzard.

According to a report by PC Gamer, "Sebastian Stepien, who was a creative director on The Witcher 3, as well as a narrative and setting director on Cyberpunk 2077, has revealed via LinkedIn that he now has a new creative director role at Blizzard's California office. Stepien was part of a trio of creative directors on The Witcher 3, also including Konrad Tomaskiewicz and Mateusz Kanik."

Stepien worked for CD Projekt RED for over ten years and was a core member of the team it seems. It'll be interesting to see what he does at Blizzard. Hopefully the company is working on an open-world game that could use his expertise instead of an expansion to World of Warcraft whose lore is just a complete mess at this point. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more, but it might be a few years before Blizzard is ready to reveal its next original franchise. We do know that there are a lot of unannounced projects in the works at the developer.

Cyberpunk 2077 should release on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 in the future. It's going to be enhanced for Xbox One X as well. It's unclear if the title is launching in 2019 or beyond. However, given the scope of the project, it seems like we have a long wait ahead of us just like The Witcher 3.
