  • It's set to be available at some date later in Summer 2021.

While we've known for years now that Cold Iron Studios was working on an untitled game in the Alien franchise, further details have not been known. Today, Cold Iron Studios revealed Aliens: Fireteam, a third-person co-op shooter created in collaboration with 20th Century Studios.

You can check out the announcement trailer for the game below.

Aliens: Fireteam is set 23 years after the events of the original Alien film trilogy, in a world where these outbreaks are no longer completely unknown threats but do remain rare. Players take on the role of a Colonial Marine aboard the USS Endeavor, which responds to a distress signal from an outer colony.

Players can choose from five different classes for their Marine, while fighting in a three-man squad in co-op or with AI squadmates. There are four campaigns, each of which is composed of three missions as the four campaigns weave in and out of each other. Players will face over 20 different enemy types, including androids and multiple different kinds of the iconic Alien creatures.

In order to take on the threat, there's multiple different weapons to choose from, each of which has unique progression. If players think the game isn't difficult enough, there's a Challenge Card system similar to the Skulls in Halo, adding unique modifiers that make the game more challenging.

Aliens: Fireteam is currently scheduled to arrive at some point over the summer this year and is coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and PS4.
