Watch 45 minutes of Anthem gameplay

Anthem is an upcoming shared world third-person shooter from BioWare. BioWare is the studio behind famous franchises like Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Anthem is expected to launch on February 22, 2019, but that hasn't stopped the developer from releasing new details about the project.

Recently, IGN revealed new footage from the game. It shows off the gameplay in great detail, including the various ability each "javelin" suit features. The title looks breathtaking and complex, exactly what gamers want from a BioWare title. Anthem also features a tremendous amount of customization, and in another livestream the team revealed how you can alter your suit to your heart's content. Adding this level of choice to any game enhances immersion because players feel like they're in control of even the most minor details.

If you don't want to wait until February 22, a "VIP" demo will be available to players beforehand on February 1. Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 users will have access to it, but you have to either subscribe to EA Access or preorder the game to play it. EA Access is only available on Xbox One. BioWare also confirmed that additional technology tests and betas were in the works.

Hopefully Anthem will be a polished and worthy experience when it launches next year. The game was supposed to come out in 2018, but was pushed back by a few months. At E3 2017, the team said that Anthem was being developed with the Xbox One X in mind. Hopefully this means that the title will be a visual showcase on Microsoft's platform.
