What you need to know

  • Two Point Hospital is getting another expansion next week on PC.
  • Close Encounters adds aliens and alien illnesses to the game.
  • There's also a secret underground facility to explore.
  • The game is also coming to Xbox One soon and is up for preorder on Amazon.

Many months ago, Sega and Two Point Studios released a hilarious Theme Hospital successor called Two Point Hospital. The announcement trailer was quirky and featured a fictitious disease known as Light-Headedness. Since its launch, the game has garnered stellar reviews on PC, but console gamers were left out. Luckily, the title was confirmed for Xbox One, too.

One of the main reasons why Two Point Hospital is so popular is because it keeps on getting quirky expansions. Today, the companies announced that aliens were checking themselves in. The expansion called Close Encounters is coming to Steam on August 29 for £7 and is available for preorder through the client. If you buy it before September 2, you'll get an early-adopter discount of 10 percent. You'll also be able to buy the Retro Items Pack on August 29 for £2.

According to Two Point Studios, Close Encounters requires you to tackle a whole range of new administrative challenges and demonstrate your ability to build, cure, and improve to achieve hospital management greatness. This time all sorts of alien species are there to help or make things worse.

There are a lot of new illnesses and other additions to the game, but the craziest has to be the plot. Apparently, the government is trying to cover up alien abductions and if you play your cards right, you can head towards a location known as Chasm 24 which is a secret underground facility. Two Point Hospital is positively crazy, that's all I'm going to say!
