FromSoftware and Bandai Namco's Elden Ring is coming next year and a new round of previews are shedding light on what else is in store with this ambitious role-playing game.

Speaking with Washington Post, FromSoftware explained several of the key features that players can look forward to in the game. While most of Elden Ring allows players to fast travel from any point and summon their horse, there are exceptions in the form of Legacy Dungeons. These are designed as more difficult experiences that players can't fast travel out of, such as a huge castle that is evidently remiscent of Boletarian Palace in Demon's Souls.

Jumping and stealth return from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice however, the guarding action is no longer the precision, rhythm-based timing of FromSoftware's 2019 adventure and is instead more in line with the traditional Dark Souls games. Also like the Dark Souls games, there will be a hub area with a woman who'll help players to level up.

Elden Ring is currently scheduled to launch on Jan. 21, 2022. It's coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and PS4.
