How clans work in The Division 2

One of Ubisoft's most-anticipated new titles is The Division 2, the sequel to the popular first game that launched back in 2016. The Division 2 is a third-person military shooter which tasks you with stopping malicious forces from seizing control of the government in the District of Columbia. It's unclear how the rest of the country is affected at this point, but we should find out soon enough.

Today, Ubisoft detailed how clans would work in The Division 2. Clans will consist of up to 50 accounts, with up to 4 characters each. The ability to create a clan is unlocked early as a part of The Division 2's story progression. Anyone who has unlocked the feature can create their own, but to start progressing, a total of 4 members must join. You can read about the major clan features below.

Managing clans

  • Clans have to design their insignia and find a unique name.
  • Each clan can set their privacy level to Open, Invite Only, or Private. This allows everyone or no one to join.
  • Clans have different leadership positions like Commander, Lieutenant, Agent, and Recruit. The Commander is the head of the clan and so on.
  • Clan members can keep themselves informed through the clan feed. The ability to leave messages on the feed will enable members to easily stay in touch.
  • Each clan will have access to two voice channels for up to 25 members each, allowing you to socialize with each other at all times, regardless of where in the game.

Joining clans

  • When searching for a clan, you will be presented with a number of options enabling you to find a clan like Activists, Most Active Times, Atmosphere, Mic Requirement, Language, and Region.

Clan progression

  • All in-game actions taken by members yielding experience points will also yield clan experience, which is a new form of experience in The Division 2.
  • Earning this will level up your clan, earning you and your friends additional benefits for each level on your clan's journey to Level 30.
  • The rewards are also cosmetic because you can unlock new insignias.
  • There are 3 tiers of reward called bronze, silver and gold. Reaching the bronze tier will unlock guaranteed rewards, while reaching the silver and gold tiers will further improve the week's rewards.
  • You can complete clan projects to gain additional rewards.

Headquarters

  • The East Wing of the White House will serve as your clan's home, providing you with a space to socialize and regroup.
  • Your clan stash to collect weekly rewards is located here, as well as the clan vendor. The quality of the items offered by this unique vendor will improve as your clan levels up.
  • Higher level clans can also purchase unique cosmetic items that are customized to your clan.

Hopefully this gave you a better understanding of how clans will work in The Division 2. For us, the ability to chat with half of your clan at the same time is one of the biggest boosts for social gaming. What do you think? Let us know.
