Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition discounted to $30 on Amazon

What you need to know

  • Mass Effect: Andromeda Collector's Edition comes with a remote control vehicle.
  • The game is a third-person action game that focuses on exploration.
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda was recently upgraded for Xbox One X.
  • The collector's edition has been discounted from $200 to $30 on Amazon.

Mass Effect: Andromeda was supposed to be the definitive Mass Effect experience, as it moved towards an open-world structure. While the exploration and combat were great, the basic plot and performance issues heavily detracted from the experience. Even months later, it still stuttered on Xbox One. However, what was most upsetting to gamers was that fact that it left a lot of plot points unresolved.

Mass Effect: Andromeda follows a group of human explorers as they try to find a new home in the Andromeda galaxy. However, there are other beings on the journey too as each species has its own space ship, known as an "Ark."

Despite how customers felt about the game, BioWare kept on working on it. BioWare Montreal may no longer exist, but the main studio recently managed to upgrade the resolution on Xbox One X. It now runs at 1800p at a solid 30 frames per second. While this isn't ideal, it brings it up to what PlayStation 4 Pro owners received at launch.

If you can look past the plot issues, Mass Effect: Andromeda is a really interesting game. There are a lot of secrets and side quests to find on the various planets. If you really like the game, you may want to consider picking up the collector's edition. The collector's edition doesn't come with the game, but it features an amazing remote control "Nomad." The package initially sold for $200, so the current Amazon price of $30 is a steal.
