Bethesda's 'Prey' franchise should return in the future

The Prey reboot wasn't the resounding commercial success Bethesda hoped for, but that doesn't mean we won't see future content from the franchise in the future. According to DualShockers, during a Bethesda event at PAX East 2018, Senior Vice President of Marketing Pete Hines provided more information about the title.

As with a lot of stuff, we're not a massive publisher that just churns out a ton of titles. We never have been. We really stick with our stuff after it launches, as we have with Prey. Part of what you've probably noticed is that we've hired a new community manager, who's been focused on Prey. She's been awesome and has been doing a lot of fun stuff around April Fools' and other things. But yeah, I don't think you've heard the last of Prey. I just couldn't tell you precisely when you might hear more.

It's unclear if Hines meant that the game would get an expansion or a new installment altogether. Hopefully it's a standalone experience like Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. E3 2018 is just around the corner so that might be a great time to unveil what's next for the game.

In our review, we called Prey "an unforgettable... horror game that's dark, deep and dizzying." Hopefully Bethesda can find ways for it to appeal to more gamers whenever the franchise reemerges.
