Microsoft has released a fix for Slow ring Windows Insiders who found themselves unable to update from build 18356.16. The fix comes in the form of a new build, 18356.21, which is available to those stuck on build 18356.16 before allowing them to update to the latest Slow ring build, 18362.

"This update will get Insiders who are on Build 18356.16 back into a good state so they can update to Build 18362," Microsoft said in a blog post this week. But even after updating, Slow ring Insiders as a part of this group won't be able to move to 18362 right away. Rather, Microsoft is giving 18356.21 a few days to roll out before it offers build 18362 to these Insiders.

This new build comes as Microsoft is winding down testing for Windows 10's 19H1 update, which is expected to get a full release for everyone within the coming weeks. Microsoft is ironing out any lingering update issues, which would include the problem preventing Slow ring Insiders from updating in recent weeks.
