Double Fine joins Xbox Game Studios at E3 2019

At E3 2019, Microsoft took to the stage to debut another studio acquisition. Double Fine Productions, the developer behind games like Psychonauts and Broken Age, is joining Microsoft's growing Xbox Game Studios stable.

This is an extension of an effort Microsoft kicked off at E3 2018, when the company revealed it had acquired several developers to bolster its Xbox Game Studios lineup. Last year's acquisitions included developers like Playground Games, Ninja Theory, and Obsidian Entertainment.

Double Fine is currently working on Psychonauts 2, and the studio showed off a new trailer for the game on stage at Microsoft's E3 2019 conference. The trainler dives into the eerie world of Psychonauts, giving us a look at some of the fun, but creepy, stuff the studio has in store for the game.
