The decision was made to give the game more development time and joins a long list of game delays from 2021. Changing work circumstances and an ongoing pandemic, as well as Ubisoft's recent commitment to quality in their game releases, has led to numerous delays across the board. Hopefully, this extra time will help the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time team make the best game they can possibly make.

This announcement did not include a new release date, though, so we'll have to wait a little longer to hear more about the game.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is slated to come to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC when it does release. It'll be backward compatible on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PS5, with no specific next-gen versions confirmed at this time.
