What you need to know

  • Darksiders II finally received its Xbox One X patch.
  • The game renders at native 4K resolution after the download.
  • Some performance issues also appear to have been fixed.
  • The game is available for $17 through Amazon.

A few months ago, THQ Nordic announced that Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition would be upgraded to take advantage of the Xbox One X. Unfortunately, it seems like the company forgot to issue an update, and many assumed that the game wouldn't receive enhancements due to the lack of communication. Luckily, that changed today. Out of nowhere, the Darksiders Twitter account said that a patch is now available which fixes an unattainable Xbox Achievement, and upgrades the game to native 4K resolution.

We tested out the Darksiders II patch and it looks incredibly crisp on the Xbox One X. Not only that, but it seems like it also fixes some minor performance issues we encountered many months ago. If you've been waiting to play the game again, you should do it right now because it looks stunning.
