PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Xbox One X test server gets prioritize frame rate option

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a battle royale game focused on scavenging weapons and using stealth or other tactics to be the last person alive. While the title has seen unprecedented popularity on Steam and other platforms like the Xbox One, it still suffers from a lack of optimization. For example, even with one of the best NVIDIA cards out there, you frequently see drops down to 30 FPS at moderate settings. The base Xbox One version drops down even further, and the Xbox One X port doesn't take advantage of the added power in a meaningful way.

Today, PUBG received an update on the Private Test Server (PTS) which adds a prioritize frame rate or resolution option on Xbox One X. While the changes aren't as groundbreaking as it makes it out to be, those who choose to set it to favor frame rate will see noticeable improvements. Apart from that, the new map which adds Dino Park, it a lot of fun. PUBG still needs a lot of work on consoles, but at least the team keeps on bringing out necessary changes.

When Bluehole announced that it was abandoning "Fix PUBG" and instead focusing on build stability and quality, many gamers were quite concerned. Luckily, there hasn't been a shortage of performance updates over the past few weeks.

Hopefully the frame rate and visual quality will be the focus here. Do you play PUBG? How's the experience been? Let us know. These changes should roll out to all users soon.
