ASUS embraces power on the go with new VivoBook Pro N580

ASUS has launched the VivoBook Pro N580, a notebook that could appeal to gamers and professionals alike with its slate of components. Available now for $1,299, the 15.6-inch VivoBook Pro N580 combines a high-end Intel Core i7 processor with some discrete graphics power from NVIDIA.

On the inside, the VivoBook Pro N580 is powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, leaving plenty of headroom. Storage is similarly spacey, with a 512GB SSD on board. Graphically speaking, the laptop packs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics chip for some extra oomph. And while that's on the lower end of NVIDIA's 10-series lineup, it should be adequate for powering the odd gaming session on the VivoBook Pro N580's FHD touchscreen.

Other notable tidbits include an integrated fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello support in the touchpad, along with support for the ASUS Pen active stylus. ASUS is also talking up the cooling system used in the VivoBook Pro N580, which combines two stainless steel fans with dual-heat pipes, a setup that ASUS claims "offers a cooling system that is on par with those found in performance laptops used for gaming."

If the VivoBook Pro N580 sounds like it's up your alley, it's available now for $1,299 from ASUS, along with Amazon and Newegg.
