Over the past few years, Overwatch has recieved aggressive post-launch support from Blizzard Entertainment. Despite the fact that games like Apex Legends and Fortnite have slowly chipped away at its user base, the title remains one of the most-watched games on Twitch and other streaming platforms.
Many thought that Blizzard would only add new characters and maps in future content, but it seems like the developer wants to radically alter the game. Today, it announced that "players, modders, and game developers can now create games in ways previously unimaginable" with a new Overwatch featured called the "Workshop."
The description states that within the Workshop, players can create a Script to add Rules and unique play Conditions on top of the established game modes. Rules can change how a hero's movement and abilities work, modify how players take damaged or are healed, or even display text under certain circumstances.
