Star Wars Battlefront II update adds new TIE fighter, addresses balancing

Star Wars Battlefront II has received a new update across all platforms, delivering new content, balancing tweaks, and a range of fixes to the game. As the first update in 2018, it continues to build on the existing experience, while recovering from the rocky launch of last year.

The biggest new addition in this update is a new ship for multiplayer, which allows players to pilot Iden Versio's TIE/In as a Hero Starfighter. This variant of the TIE fighter features a unique look, alongside unique in-game abilities and dedicated set of Star Cards. Specific milestones also come with this ship, which rewards players for completing specific tasks.

The update debuts a new game mode and map combination too, allowing players to experience the existing "Crait" map with the Blast game mode. This map was first added alongside the launch of "The Last Jedi," though allows players to experience the planet from a new perspective.

Finally, this update brings a slew of changes to existing Battlefront content, including Hero statistics, classes, weapons. Various fixes have been deployed across maps and game modes, which promise to deliver more consistent multiplayer gameplay.
