Fallout 76 features fast travel and griefing prevention

Recently, Bethesda announced Fallout 76 for Xbox One and other platforms. In an interview between multiplayer.it and Bethesda's Todd Howard, the developer revealed that Fallout 76 will feature fast travel and certain perks for low-level players. When Howard was asked about fast travel, he simply replied "Yes." According to PC Gamer, who translated the interview, no other explanation was given. We have no idea how it works, but it might be a system similar to the one found in The Elder Scrolls Online.

Additionally, it seems like low-level players can't be killed in player vs. player environments. If you're below Level 5, then you can't be harmed. Again, it's unclear how this works, but it seems like this is designed to make sure those new to the game aren't frustrated. The interview mentions that this might change in the future, but we hope there's a system which prevents griefing for beginners.

According to Bethesda, Fallout 76 features sixteen times the detail and you can even view distant weather systems across the map. There are six distinct regions to explore which have their own look and feel. Apart from that, the creatures vary as well. For example, you may encounter a mutated giant sloth in one locale and a deadly man-eating bat in another. Both of them present unique challenges and there are specific ways to take them down.

Fallout 76 isn't a hardcore survival game like Ark: Survival Evolved. Howard called it "softcore survival". It seems that the focus will mostly be on completing quests rather than farming resources.
