Ubisoft's 'Gods & Monsters' and 'Watch Dogs: Legion' run at 4K resolution on Xbox One X

What you need to know

  • Gods & Monsters is an upcoming Greek mythology game from Ubisoft.
  • Watch Dogs: Legion is another open-world title from the publisher.
  • The Microsoft Store says both games run at 4K resolution on Xbox One X.
  • You can preorder them from the Microsoft Store for $60.

At E3 2019, Ubisoft announced that it was releasing two new "AAA" games in early 2020. Gods & Monsters and Watch Dogs: Legion come out in February and March, respectively, and look like intriguing experiences. Gods & Monsters focuses on Greek mythology and feels like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because it's an open-world game. Watch Dogs: Legion is also an open-world game set in London, but it allows you to play as anyone as it doesn't feature a main character.

Whenever a major new AAA game is announced, gamers are always curious about what the resolution is on the refreshed consoles. While it's unclear how the game runs on PlayStation 4 Pro, we do know that both titles achieve 4K resolution on Xbox One X. The Microsoft Store listings confirm this. When the company launched the machine a couple of years ago, its goal was to render titles at 4K resolution and provide more stable frame rates. So far, it seems like the Xbox One X is doing exactly that.

Gods & Monsters

In Gods & Monsters you embody Fenyx, a forgotten hero on a quest to restore power to the Greek gods after it was stolen by Typhon, the deadliest creature in Greek mythology. You'll explore the Isle of the Blessed and prove your heroism as you face terrifying foes including fearsome Gorgons, Harpies, and Cyclopes.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion takes place in a post-Brexit London, where the United Kingdom is a surveillance state and freedom has been replaced with fear. According to Ubisoft, you can recruit and play as anyone. Every citizen is fully simulated and realized so that this is possible.

Are you excited for Gods & Monsters and Watch Dogs: Legion? Both titles look stellar, but we'll have to wait until they launch in early 2020 to come to a definitive conclusion. Until then, we can all look forward to learning more about them in the coming months.
