Classic strategic masterpiece Homeworld: Cataclysm is now available on GOG

Homeworld: Emergence may not be a familiar name to those of you who may have played the original series of games released almost two decades ago, but it's essentially a re-release of Homeworld: Cataclysm with a slight name change to avoid copyright infringement on Blizzard's WarCraft. If you've never had the pleasure of sitting down and enjoying a playthrough of Homeworld: Cataclysm, now's your chance with Gearbox and GOG teaming up to release the game in the same state that was originally rolled out back in 2000.

This game itself was developed by Barking Dog Studios — Relic was responsible for the original two instalments — and offered players a number of new features like no fuel requirement for fighters, time lapse for resource gathering, new units and technologies, and a solid narrative. While it proved difficult for fans to obtain copies of the game without forking out some serious cash at points, GOG has once again shown the platform's commitment to providing gamers access to some of the best games around, regardless of release date.

Homeworld games are stunning sci-fi real-time strategy experiences and are highly recommended for anyone who enjoys such titles. If this wasn't enough, Emergence currently has 10 percent off, bringing the $9.99 price tag down to an even more reasonable $8.99. Hit the link below to pick up a copy!
