Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 gets cheaper battle royale version on PC

Every year, Activision releases a new Call of Duty game and fans of the franchise love it. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 revives the fan-favorite series, fully embracing its multiplayer success, while exploring new online modes such as "Zombies." A battle royale mode called "Blackout" is also part of the package.

Today, Activision announced the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Battle Edition" exclusively for PC. You can purchase it right now through Blizzard's Battle.net for $29.99. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Battle Edition features the classic multiplayer mode and battle royale in one package for a limited introductory price. Keep in mind that Zombies — arguably the best part of the game — aren't in this version.

Activision Senior Vice President Rob Schonfeld said the following about this condensed package.

Since launch, the response on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 from the PC community has been fantastic, and the game has continued to drive strong engagement with players. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Battle Edition is a great way to bring even more new players into the game and allow them to jump into the incredibly fun multiplayer and Blackout modes which fans have loved so much since day one.

It's great to see the game doing this well. Beforehand, customers only had two main battle royale titles to choose from. Fortnite is technically solid, but the shooting mechanics are mediocre to say the least. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a more mature take, but it still riddled with bugs on consoles.
