MechWarrior 5 preorders open on PC, new trailer drops

Do you like mechs? Have you ever wanted to have even more spectacular battles than Titanfall? Well, now's your chance because MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries just went up for preorder on PC. The editions range all the way from $49.99 to $119.99, so choose wisely. Aside from bonus content, you also get more currency for the online mode the higher you go.

According to the developer, MechWarrior 5 is modeled after MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries, granting players the freedom to run their campaigns how they choose. In MechWarrior 5, you'll build, manage, and guide your own mercenary unit through a multi-year campaign during the sprawling "Third and Fourth Succession Wars." You'll will face complicated situations with no perfect solution because you have to choose which contracts to accept, where in the galaxy to direct your attention, and how to balance repairs or upgrades with maintaining a unit's limited resources.

While the game is coming to PC on September 10, 2019, there's still hope for a console port, especially on Xbox One. Microsoft has met with developer Pirahna Games on a number of occasions.

Although no Xbox One version has been confirmed, Pirahna Games went on record to say that the team has been in talks with Microsoft recently about "something." Here's hoping Xbox One customers get in on the action too! These talks may just be about bringing MechWarrior 5 to Xbox One, so don't take this as confirmation that Microsoft plans on acquiring Pirahna like Playground Games and other studios.
