What you need to know

  • The quest for the Fourth Horseman, a new Exotic Shotgun, is available now in Destiny 2.
  • You'll need to be a Season Pass holder for the Season of the Worthy to get access to the quest.
  • The Fourth Horseman increases damage and spread each time you shoot, and it's fully automatic.

A returning Exotic Shotgun from the first Destiny game, the Fourth Horseman, is available now in Destiny 2 via a special Exotic quest. To get access to the quest, players will need to purchase the Season Pass for the Season of the Worthy, which costs $10 worth of Silver. Silver is the currency for the in-game Eververse store. To start the quest, talk to Zavala in The Tower.

The Fourth Horseman looks to be quite the beastly weapon, especially when used in player-versus-environment (PvE) activities. This is because it ramps up its damage (and spread) with every shot fired, resetting both stats once all four rounds in the barrels have been expended and you need to reload. This means that, provided you don't mind getting close to foes so that your pellets don't miss, you can do huge damage compared to other shotguns. Another thing that makes the Fourth Horseman a powerful weapon is its fully automatic firing mode, giving you the ability to quickly blast off all four rounds if desired. Combined with the weapon's ramp-up properties, this will allow you to put out a staggering amount of firepower in mere seconds.

Plus, it looks cool. That matters more than anything else.

What do you think of the Fourth Horseman? Let me know. Personally, as a Shotgun-lover in Destiny, I'm excited to get my hands on it.

Destiny 2 is free-to-play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The latest expansion, Shadowkeep, costs $35 on all platforms.
