Warhammer: Vermintide 2 gets huge patch on Xbox One, adds time-limited event

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a melee action game with co-op gameplay. You, along with three other players, have to battle seemingly endless hordes of enemies in a gothic setting. The title introduces the dark, bloody and twisted "Chaos" faction as the new enemy. However, that doesn't mean you won't be slaughtering legions of them. Other new features include expanded careers, environments, skill trees, and much more.

Today, Xbox One owners received a roughly 18 GB patch on their consoles. Aside from adding the "Sonnstill Celebrations" event which features an updated keep and double experience, there are a lot of optimizations. The major changes are listed below. For the full list, check out the patch notes.

  • Added Sonnstill Celebrations timed event.
  • Added menu scaling option.
  • Performed memory optimization.
  • Fixed an issue with players not getting DLC.
  • Fixed the motion blur option.
  • Removed the pre-order button.
  • Tweaked the starting location on "Halescourge" to make it brighter.

Developer Fatshark confirmed that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 runs at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X and 1440p on PlayStation 4 Pro. The developer said that the Xbox One X version was enhanced with native 4K textures and a steadier frame rate compared to base hardware.

You can either purchase Warhammer: Vermintide 2 outright, starting at $29.99, or play it through Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass membership costs $9.99 each month so be sure to check it out if you want a Netflix-style subscription for games.
