If you skipped the preorder bandwagon, opting instead to pick up NVIDIA's new GeForce 2080 Ti on launch day, you'll have to wait a little longer. In a post on its official GeForce forums, an NVIDIA representative announced that general availability for the RTX 2080 Ti has been pushed back one week, moving from September 20 to September 27.
Fortunately, preorders are still expected to arrive starting on September 20. "GeForce RTX 2080 Ti general availability has shifted to September 27th, a one week delay," the NVIDIA rep says in the statement. "We expect pre-orders to arrive between September 20th and September 27th."
The 2080 Ti is the higher-powered sibling to the standard GeForce RTX 2080, which is still expected to be available on store shelves starting September 20. Both cards are expected to be absolute powerhouses, taking advantage of new ray tracing tech an AI built into the GPUs to help display a level of realism that would have previously required a prohibitively expensive setup to achieve. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, and RTX 2070 are all available for preorder now starting at $599 and topping out at $1,199. As usual, a large number of third-party manufacturers have their own variants of the cards available to order as well.
