Rage 2 gets action-packed launch trailer, reveals General Cross and sandworms

Today, Bethesda released the launch trailer for Rage 2. The publisher said, "When you're about to get your head sliced in half by the glowing, wrist-mounted fishhook blade of a giant, old, cyborg man, you tend to reflect on the journey that brought you to that very moment." The video is filled with bombastic action and tons of guns.

Rage 2 is a first-person shooter which takes place in a post-apocalyptic future. Following a catastrophic asteroid impact, Earth is in ruin and numerous individuals are put into underground hibernation. Unfortunately, events don't go according to plan and the surface is overrun by mutants and an oppressive organization known as "The Authority." It's up to you to liberate everyone and dismantle the oppressive regime once and for all.

The narration by the protagonist also provides us with a look at General Cross. He's the leader of The Authority and seems to be the main villain. Towards the end of the trailer, you also get a look at a massive sand worm. That would be an amazing boss fight!

Rage 2 launches next week on May 14 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The title runs at 1080p 60 frames per second (FPS) on Xbox One X. Unfortunately, it doesn't feature a 4K 30 FPS option so it may look a little blurry on 4K displays.
