Cyberpunk 2077 is probably one of the most anticipated games coming next year from The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED. At Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference, the team debuted a new trailer along with the April 16, 2020 release date.

Just like any CD Projekt RED game, the title features multiple endings and doesn't impose restrictions on where you can go for the most part. According to Cyberpunk 2077's Lead Quest Designer Pawel Sasko, you can also go beyond the walls of Night City and explore a desolate area known as "The Badlands." He said the following in an interview with VG247.

The Badlands are the surrounding district around the Night City. Players can leave Night City and just explore that area – an area that is mostly sort of destroyed basically after all the droughts and everything that happened in the fifty years from 2020 to 2077. And you can explore that, there are specific quests prepared for that, also open world content, so that's definitely covered. It's not only the city that you're visiting.

Many gamers were worried that they wouldn't be able to see what was beyond the walls of Night City. Hopefully, The Badlands will be an interesting area to explore. However, only time will tell.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for preorder on Xbox One and other platforms at the moment. Aside from the sold-out collector's edition, there appears to be one version for $60. Just like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, future expansions will probably be sold separately.
