Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order gameplay preview video — EA gets serious about Star Wars

EA's handling of the Star Wars license has, shall we say, been a bit sketchy. The Star Wars Battlefront II loot crate pay-to-win drama kickstarted a wider gaming community backlash against the practice, eventually seeing many publishers opt-out of the practice altogether. Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order may help EA redeem itself, a bit.

At a recent preview event, we went hands-on with Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order, including a written gameplay preview from our own Jennifer Locke, and hands-on gameplay video above from Russell Holly.

The Fallen Order is a rarity for EA in 2019, in that it's entirely a single-player, non-service type affair, with a commitment against microtransactions. Developed by Respawn Entertainment, The Fallen Order seems as though it sports some swordplay similarities from the likes of Sekiro, where timing and grace will win the day over furious button mashing.

Take a watch of our gameplay video above, and let us know what you think.
