Today, Gears of War developer The Coalition announced that it was partnering with Udon Entertainment to release "Gears of War: Retrospective - The First 10 Years." Gears of War: Retrospective is a book that chronicles the extensive history of the Gears of War franchise, from its tenure at Epic Games until The Coalition took over. Gears 5 is launching this holiday season, so it should give long-time fans an interesting look into the development of previous games.

The book is written by Polygon's Arthur Gies and provides a detailed look into the history of Gears of Wars through the words of its developers, designers, and artists. According to Xbox Wire, it contains over 250 pages of commentary, concept art, and key visuals. It also includes new interviews with Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski and The Coalition Studio Head Rod Fergusson.
